The school year is over and with all the water-drenched kids coming home from Tanglewood it looks like the parents had tons of fun soaking all the kids on the last day of school. I mentioned previously and want to remind you that our community comes alive in the summer with family gatherings, children playing outdoors, and increased neighborhood activity. With kids riding bikes, scooters, and skateboards, please take extra care in your daily routines and while driving through the community.
This also means the Whiskey Creek Civic Association Board’s May meeting was our final meeting until September, as we observe our annual summer hiatus. While we will not be meeting during the summer months, the Board remains active and committed to serving our community.
Hurricane Season Preparedness
Hurricane has officially started and now is the time to get prepared. There has been a heavy focus on verifying weather notices and not just believing social media post, using a trusted weather source like local weather reports, NOAA, Weather Channel. Please take a few moments to review your hurricane preparedness plans and make sure your family is ready. Consider the following:
- Sign up for free emergency alerts from Lee County.
- Establish an evacuation plan should one become necessary.
- Protect your home by securing windows, garage doors, roofs, and gutters.
- Trim trees and landscaping near windows, lanais, and screens.
- Test generators and ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Stock essential supplies including batteries, flashlights, food, water, medications, and first-aid items.
- Create a communication plan with family and friends.

Community Events
The Whiskey Creek Civic Association hosted the 4th Annual Battle at the Creek Golf Tournament on May 15 at Whiskey Creek Country Club. We had a fantastic turnout and raised over $20k for PACE Center for Girls, an outstanding nonprofit organization that provides resources, guidance, and support to help local middle and high school girls succeed. The annual 4th of July Parade organized by Tanglewood is just days away. It is another fun community tradition with decorated bicycles, golf carts, and patriotic displays throughout the neighborhood. This year is even more special as we celebrate the 250th. Join the fun with family, friends, and neighbors.
Country Club Updates
If you haven’t yet visited the newly renovated Whiskey Creek Country Club clubhouse and outdoor patio, what are you waiting for? The renovated facility has quickly become a favorite destination for neighbors to meet, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and experience the updated menu and amenities. They are hosting Bingo, and live music on Friday among other gatherings and events. It is a great Happy Hour spot, with good food and good vibes.
WCCA Board Meetings
The Whiskey Creek Civic Association Board Meetings are held at the clubhouse and are always open to residents. We encourage community participation and welcome your ideas, feedback, and involvement. For updates, meeting information, and community news, please visit:
