As we prepare for the new school year, football season, and the holiday seasons, we want to take a moment to share some exciting updates and express our continued gratitude for your involvement and support.
We’re excited to announce that the new back porch at the clubhouseis finished, and it looks fantastic! A huge thank you to the Club Directors, the Civic Association Board, and all the community members who contributed to this beautiful upgrade. It’s a space we can all enjoy and gather with friends. The Whiskey Creek Clubhouse will be closed until October for interior renovations and upgrades throughout. These improvements will enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the club, and we are excited for the unveiling of the new club later this fall!
I am sure you have noticed the increased school trafficwith students returning to school. Please be extra cautious while driving, especially around bus stops and crosswalks. Let’s look out for walkers and bikers and keep our kids safe.
The Civic Association Board meetings have resumed and will be held monthly until next May. We may have to adjust the times and location for a couple of months until the clubhouse is reopened. Please visit the website https://whiskeycreeknews.net/ or the Whiskey Creek Civic Association Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/whiskeycreek.FL. We welcome your ideas and involvement as we plan for a great year ahead.
It’s that time of year for many of our community events and initiatives! Fall Fest is just around the corner, and I’m looking forward to seeing who will win Best Golf Cart at the annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade. I’m sure many of you have already started designing your carts.
Get your recipes ready for our Community Chili Cook-Off as well! We’re also excited to announce that the Pace Center for Girls will be the beneficiary of our Battle at the Creek Charity Golf Tournament, among other events, as part of our community engagement efforts. Thank you for your continued support of WCCA and our community!
We are collaborating with the county to enhance the beauty of ourneighborhood medians, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for everyone. One of the reasons this project is important for our community, aside from improving aesthetics, is that the medians have not been upgraded or maintained regularly since they were originally built. A primary goal of this potential community project is to add fill dirt, raise the beds, and resod the areas to help eliminate water pooling, which can lead to flooding and damage to roadways. We are also partnering with the MSTBU, and local landscaping companies to ensure we have the best plan moving forward. To ensure that projects like this remain an option for our community, along with proper maintenance, it is crucial that residents participate in the voluntary civic associationdues. If you are new to the community or have not yet renewed your civic association dues, now is an excellent time to do so. If we don’t see increased participation in civic association dues, a capital campaign may be needed to move these improvements forward. Every membership helps!
Whiskey Creek continues to be a popular destination for residents of all walks of life, each contributing to the rich tapestry of our community. Whether you’re here to settle down, unwind, or raise a family, your presence is vital to our collective vision.
The WCCA Board is grateful for the opportunity to give back to this amazing community, and we thank you for making that possible.
